It turns out I had let the cat out of the bag, so we had to hurry. First of all we gathered our stuff, and proceeded down the corridor, which had a door leading to the outside. Barda led the way and kicked down the door.
Standing at the end of the alleyway were six men, who all leveled their pistols at him. A flurry of bullets flew at Barda, but either missed or bounced off of his plate-mail.
Oz, throws a smoke grenade, and the area oustide is obscured with smoke. All of them men reload their weapons, and Barda charges in. I hear screams coming from outside, and shots going off. I lay down at then end of the corridor, and ready my rifle, and wait. I continue to hear the clashes of battle, but I cannot do anything with the smoke obscuring my view. A man charges at me from outside, and I take a shot, but miss. He hits me, and I draw my pistol and fire again! But miss! I'm wounded now, and he swings at me again.
I hear a shot , and the man continues his swing, but instead of hitting me, he hits the floor. And doesn't get up again.
As the man falls, I see Vernon lowering his smoking pistol. It seems I owe him one now. Barda killed four of the men, and the other one was taken out by someone else. I could tell Barda took down so many, by the blood that caked his armour. Vernon leads us through the weaving, tight alleyways of Five Fingers, until we get to a wider street.
At which point, Oz turns to the left, and jumps back when a shot burts between his feet. I look over and spot three men on the 2nd floor of a building, on a crosswalk, about 200 feet away. Everyone but Barda and I run towards them, hoping to get past them, for we don't have much time. I pick off the middle man, and then we run forward ourselves, since we don't want to fall behind. Vernon uses "obscuring mist" to provide some cover. As I run, I frantically load another shot into my gun. Oz is running forward, using his shovel as a shield.
I pick off the one on the left this time, with my last round. Oz gets hit with a shot up ahead.
____ used Light of Lumia and kills the last one, on the right. I sling my rifle over my shoulder and grab my pistol.
"THERE THEY ARE!" Someone yells from behind.
"WE CAN'T LET THEM GET THE CRATE!" yells Vernon, as we continue to run.
I start to lag behind after about 5 minutes and they're starting to catch up. Luckily I see the door, but it's open! Vernon yells instructions to me and Bard of where to find the crate.
"Everyone else,
We're barring the door." Vernon yells, and points at Oz and to some metal. Oz grabs the metal and starts rivetting, while Barda and I run to find the crate. We grab it and put it in the back of the armoured wagon. It has four horses, and everyone else jumps on. Vernon grabs the reins and we burst through the doors! I grab some ammo from the back of the wagon, and reload, since I was out of ammo.
As we screech through the narrow alleyways (luckily Vernon has skill with the horses) Riflemen start firing upon the cart from above. They seem to almost line the overhead streets.
As we turn a corner, I spot the gate to the city, but I also see the doors closing, and luckily, the man closing it. Even though the cart is shaking badly, I lean out the side, and take a shot at him (it seems that the scope was worth it). I manage to catch him in the shoulder, so he spins, and falls off the edge. Unfortunately, gravity has taken over now.... as we hear Vernon yell:
"DUCK!"
Barda takes a solid hit, and I don't duck quite fast enough.... I smash my forehead against the gate, and feel woozy. Almost blacking out...
I hear Zavier getting up from the back somehow! Luckily Jeremiah is there, so he heals me, and I'm able to move again. I go back and check on the cargo as Vernon tells me to.
I hear a few clunks from the crate, and surprsingly, the top pops up. A bowler hat, followed by a green face peeks over the lip of the crate. And the person asks if "they" are gone yet. Oz asks who he is, and as he does, I turn to the front.
I look out and up to the gate, and see a small figure standing there....
He turns around.
And fades away....
